May Pops Finale: Let’s Celebrate!

The MSO closes out the season with a special celebration showcasing one of the MSO’s very own - trumpeter Randy O’Keefe. Celebrating 20 years as principal trumpet with the MSO, Randy will perform a virtuosic showpiece by Armenian composer Alexander Arutiunian as well as Gershwin’s iconic Someone to Watch Over Me.

The program also includes favorites such as Themes from 007, My Fair Lady, Olympic Fanfare, Armed Forces Salute, and a special narration of Copland’s Lincoln Portrait.

About the Soloist

Prior to joining the MSO, Randy O’Keefe served as the principal trumpet for 20 years with both the 567th Air Force Band (Massachusetts Air National Guard) and the 555th Air Force Band (Ohio Air National Guard), and is a founding member of the Ipswich River Brass Ensemble. Randy is the Performing Arts Department Head and High School Band Director for the Masconomet Regional School District.
