Travel to France in the 19th century with the Melrose Symphony and acclaimed harpist Ina Zdorovetchi. You’ll hear beautiful music by Debussy and Ravel featuring the harp, Saint-Saëns’s Organ Symphony, highlighting Melrose’s historical pipe organ, and an overture by Louise Farrenc, an extraordinary pianist, composer, and campaigner for women’s equity in the 19th century.

Saint-Saëns - Organ Symphony

In lieu of a pre-concert talk, the conductor will speak from the stage.


About the Soloist

Ina Zdorovetchi is the principal harpist with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, Portland Symphony, and Boston Lyric Opera, as well as an Associate Professor of Harp at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Ms. Zdorovetchi was the top prize winner of the 17th International Harp Contest in Israel, second prize winner at Cite des Arts Harp Competition in Paris and has been honored with the Henry Cabot Award for Special Commitment of Talent by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Alien with Extraordinary Abilities in the Arts title by the United States government, and Outstanding Music Faculty of the Year by the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
