Experience the profound beauty inspired by English, Irish, and Scottish melodies in Amy Beach’s Gaelic Symphony - the first symphony composed and published by a female American composer in 1894. Boston Symphony violinist Victor Romanul joins the MSO for one of classical music’s most beloved works for violin and orchestra.

About the Soloist

Violinist Victor Romanul, who performed with the Boston Symphony for 32 years, is now a full-time soloist and teacher. A former student of Jascha Heifetz, Ivan Galamian, and Joseph Silverstein, Victor has performed in thousands of concerts worldwide over the years.

Victor has recently been involved in several televised video streams of solo performances from Symphony Hall and Tanglewood, as well as educational videos on behalf of the Boston Symphony. Additionally, he has led masterclasses on the Paganini Caprices and the Ysaÿe Sonatas at Tanglewood.

A seasoned performer, Victor has tackled some of the most challenging repertoire, including the complete Paganini Caprices, the six Ysaÿe Sonatas, and the six Bach Sonatas. He is frequently featured as a soloist with many orchestras, showcasing a wide range of concerti and solo pieces.

Victor also enjoys performing solo recitals, often accompanied by his wife of 43 years, Lisa. As a father of five and grandfather of three, he cherishes his time in Massachusetts, where he pursues various hobbies.
