About the Soloist

Born into a musical family in Baltimore and raised in Boston, conductor and pianist Myron Romanul made his solo debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at age 11. He went on to tour as a soloist with Arthur Fiedler—who affectionately dubbed him "Dial-A-Concerto"—and won a Grammy Award as the original pianist for the NEC Ragtime Ensemble. An accomplished chamber musician and conductor, he studied at Tanglewood under Seiji Ozawa and Gunther Schuller.

After moving to Germany, Romanul served as Kapellmeister and music director at several major opera houses. He currently serves as a conductor at the Nationaltheater Munich (Bavarian State Opera and Ballet) and is the Principal Conductor of the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra.
