A Message from President, Millie Rich

On behalf of the Melrose Symphony Orchestra, I would like to welcome you to our 91st Concert Season.

As we celebrate our 91 years as a community orchestra we are proud and grateful to be distinguished as the area's most successful community arts organization. This season we are proud to present inspiring music, internationally renowned guest artists and the incredible individual and collective talents of the Melrose Symphony Orchestra. We will continue to thrive and make memorable music for our community well into the 21st century.

We are also thrilled to have another season with our ever popular conductor, Yoichi Udagawa. He continues to inject the orchestra and you, our audience, with an enthusiasm unmatched by any previous conductor and we thank you for letting him know how much he is appreciated.

We are excited about this new concert season which opens in October with soprano, Junko Watanabe performing some opera arias. Our Holiday Pops will bring to our stage the renown baritone, Robert Honeysucker. Pianist, Miyuki Otani will perform with us in March, and in May for our Spring Pops we will feature vocalists Mara Bonde and Donald Wilkinson performing some Broadway selections.

Please join us as we are continue our tradition of pre-concert lectures before our October and March performances. Refreshments are also available at 7:15 PM.

It is always a pleasure to be playing in historic Memorial Hall, so it is only natural when you find a good thing to want to share it with people you care about. Please invite your friends and acquaintances to join you for an evening of music with the Melrose Symphony.

We remain thankful for our loyal audience and continue to enjoy the passionate support of our subscribers, patrons and advertisers. One way to let them know the effectiveness of their ads is to thank them for their support of the orchestra when conducting your business with them.

We are grateful for the dedicated support of our sponsor, The Melrose Cooperative Bank. Their appreciation of the important role the arts and culture play in our lives, is apparent by their underwriting the 2007-2008 concert season.

We are looking forward to this season and look to you for continued support and enthusiasm.
